A hair transplant in Turkey costs considerably less than in the UK, Ireland or Germany — largely because hospital and staffing costs are lower, not because the standard of care is. Your price depends on the technique, the number of grafts you actually need and the length of your stay. We do not publish a single figure, because quoting one before anyone has looked at your donor area would be guesswork. Send photos of the front, top and back of your head and you receive one written all-inclusive quote, usually within 24 hours, and it does not change once agreed.

It depends on the area you want covered and, more importantly, on how much your donor area can safely give. That is measured under trichoscopic analysis, so we give you a range before you travel and confirm the exact number with you on the day, before the session starts.

FUE extracts follicles individually and places them into channels opened in the recipient area; it suits larger areas and most standard patterns. Sapphire FUE uses sapphire blades to open those channels, which allows finer channels and closer placement. DHI implants grafts directly with a Choi pen without opening channels first, which suits smaller areas, denser work between existing hairs and patients who want to shave less. Your doctor recommends one at your assessment and explains why — the technique follows your pattern and donor area, not a price list.

Then it caps what is possible, and we tell you that before you book rather than after you land. A donor area can only be harvested so far without thinning it visibly, so in some cases the honest answer is to cover the front and mid-scalp first, in others to treat active loss medically before transplanting anything, and occasionally that a transplant is not the right step at all.

Your hairline is drawn with you in the mirror and the graft count confirmed, then the session runs for roughly 6 to 8 hours under local anaesthetic. You are awake throughout, with breaks, lunch and your phone. The anaesthetic injections sting for a few minutes; after that the session itself is not painful, and some soreness and tightness for a few days afterwards is normal.

The transplanted hairs shed between weeks 2 and 6 — expected, and not a sign of failure, because the follicle stays in place. Real growth starts at around month 3 to 4, thickens through months 6 to 9, and the final result is assessed at 12 to 18 months.

Sometimes. Advanced loss, a large area to cover, or hair loss that carries on in the areas that were not transplanted can all mean a second session adds something — usually planned at least a year after the first, once the result is settled. We do not build that into the first quote, and we would rather tell you at the 12-month review than promise density we cannot know in advance.

Not always. DHI and unshaven FUE can be performed with little or no shaving, which suits patients who cannot take visible downtime. Large sessions are usually easier and denser with the donor area shaved, so your doctor will tell you at the assessment what your plan needs.

In a full JCI-accredited hospital with sterile theatres and medical backup on site — not a hotel room and not a day clinic. Extraction and implantation are performed under medical supervision, and blood tests are taken before the session.

You leave with your washing schedule, lotions, medication and written instructions for the first month, and your coordinator stays in contact for 12 months.
